*Each class is color coded as listed above.
*Encourage your student to read whatever interests him/her whenever possible!
*Email is the best way to reach me. Please allow 24 hours for me to return your message. My email address can be found on the school's website under the Social Studies Dept.
Class expectations for all 4 classes:
- All students must come prepared each day with all materials (That includes the textbook/workbook, homework, notebook, paper/pencil).
- All students are required to complete the daily journals when they enter class which are collected periodically.
- All students are responsible for writing down their homework in their planners and turning it in on time.
- All students are to raise their hand when speaking in class.
- All students are asked to keep an individual notebook or tab to organize their work with paper for notes and other assignments.
- All students are asked to add positively to class and do what's right!
- If students are absent, they are responsible for collecting the make up work. Please use the homework chart below to keep up with the class.
World History ADV- 1. The current events schedule has been made! The students will know when a current event week is approaching. (Not to be assigned on a weekly basis until further notice.).
*Students are to select a news article from around the world when reporting.*
2. Currently working on Islamic Civilizations (Chapter 11).
Civics- The Civics book is part of the class set, however, the book can be found online. See below.
The book can be found online at: Glencoe
1. Click on the link above. (Glencoe)
2. In the QUICK PASS box type in: CIV3093c21 (The code is case sensitie. The number at the end of the code is the chapter your student wishes to access.)
3. The book itself can not be found section by section but there are various study tools, practice quizzes, and the book's glossary can be found chapter by chapter. Students will be able to complete vocab activities at home. We are currently working in Chapter 21.
4. A packet of notes will now be administered to each student in order to help them better comprehend the material. They are responsible for holding onto the packet as it will be a classwork grade at the end of each chapter. They answer questions with room to write side notes if they wish. This is to be used as a study tool for quizzes or tests.
Math 2 ADV- 1. We are currently working on Chapter 12 (Statistics).
2. ThinkLink Testing results are available. If you are interested in your child's score for the past 3 rounds then please email me!
3. I will not assign homework if I feel that the students need more class/instructional practice. I don't believe in practicing homework wrong if they are not fully confident when they leave class.
4. If students would like access to their book online, they need to complete the attached instructions: Marr Code 2.pdf
5. Please provide your student with a 4-functioning calculator that they can use in the classroom. I realize a lot of them have scientific calculators but those are not approved on FCAT or other types of exams. Thanks!
Language Arts 2 ADV- Textbook schedule*: Literature Book= Tues, Thurs, Fri *SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITH TEACHER NOTIFICATION
Grammar Books= Monday

*A reading log will be passed out to keep track of their readings. Students are to read atleast 25 pages a day for 5 days. I will be collecting the reading log every Monday. They can choose which 5 days to read including the weekends but 5 days must be designated to reading. If they read on Saturday on Sunday those logs will be collected that coming Monday. I encourage students to finish the book they have started whether they are fully enjoying it or not. We return to the library every 2 weeks. Reading Log.pdf
