Welcome to the Landrum Middle School Science Fair! Fall 2011 Timeline and Important Information for Students and Parents
See Timeline Below!!!
Welcome to the Landrum Science Fair! A science fair project should be challenging and enjoyable. Students will learn about the scientific method used for research and how research projects are different from regular reports. Each year some remarkable research is done by our own students at Landrum.
All students are invited to compete in the school-wide Science Fair to be held at Landrum November 18. Last year there was a tremendous response with a record number of projects in the fair. All students who plan to compete in the school Science Fair must complete the necessary documents and follow the timeline provided on the reverse side of this page. Completion of the proper documents is part of the process, and is necessary to compete in the regional and state level science fair competitions.
Landrum follows the format and rules and regulations of the ISEF (International Science and Engineering Fair). All pertinent information and required documents can be found on their website, Landrum Middle School will have a link on the website to science fair information as well.
During Landrum’s Open House on September 1 (for 6th Grade) and September 8th (for7th and 8th Grade). Volunteers working with the Science Fair will be available, on both nights, to students and parents for discussion. We are also looking for people with a background in science to help judge the projects on November 18. There are many judging categories that suit different backgrounds in science. This is an enjoyable way to use your scientific training to the benefit of our students at Landrum Middle School. The students are proud of their hard work and like to show and discuss their projects!
