The Ponte Vedra Public Education Foundation is a grassroots, non-profit 501©3 charitable organization created to enhance public education in our five local Ponte Vedra Schools. Active since 1983, we bring professional art and academic programs to inspire and expand the learning experience of our students.
Our “in school” performances expose our students to excellence in “on stage” theatrical experiences as well as “in class” hands-on experiences. For instance, this year 2nd & 5th graders marveled at the internationally acclaimed Cashore Marionettes, unmatched in artistry, grace, and refinement of movement; Landrum students, teachers, and parents learned about the problem of bullying in a Bullying Prevention Education Workshop sponsored by the Foundation; all students in the 6, 7, & 8 grades are offered the opportunity to participate in lab dissections of squids (6th grade), frogs (7th grade), and cow eyeballs (8th grade) to enhance their curriculum. This school year we have awarded
$16,000 to over 40 teachers under the Teacher Mini-Grant program to increase effective learning in individual classrooms. Please note the enclosed schedule of events planned for the 2010-2011 school year.
We go to our neighbors just once a year to ask for support. The Foundation relies on contributions from large & small businesses and from individuals such as you in our community. Our goal is to keep our schools the most outstanding in the state by offering creative learning opportunities. Your donations directly fund the programs we offer to our public school students in Ponte Vedra. The Foundation is an all volunteer organization with no paid staff or overhead. Your gift is an effective way to act locally for the good of our children and our community.
